FDP-Ostallgäu discusses burning issues for the 2026 local elections!

On August 15, 2025, the FDP-Ostallgäu invited people to their get-together for the 2026 local elections in the Pizzeria La Fattoria in Pfronten. This social gathering was not only an opportunity to get together, but also a platform to discuss the challenges of local politics. Among the participants were Dr. Gunther Zahn, Marcus Prost, Alexander Zellner and Thomas Reiter, who had brought his son with him.

The chairman of the FDP-Ostallgäu, Marcus Prost, emphasized the importance of taking local problems seriously and pursuing citizen-oriented, realistic policies. The discussions focused primarily on topics such as through traffic in Pfronten and Nesselwang. The deputy chairman, Alexander Zellner, discussed the fact that tourist traffic often avoids the traffic jam at the Füssen border tunnel. This led to increased noise pollution, unpleasant smells and endangering residents.

Swimming pool construction and local attractiveness

Another central point of the discussion was the construction of the new Pfronten swimming pool. This was about the optimal location and the economic viability of the project. Those present expressed their desire for a charming location that offers a beautiful view of the Alps. The current situation was critically addressed, which unfortunately offers more “city romance with a view of buildings” than a pleasant ambience.

The FDP-Ostallgäu wants to work harder on these issues in the coming electoral period and seek dialogue with citizens. A central message of the event was that the challenges in local politics require multiple perspectives and that citizens' opinions are of great value.

Overall, the regulars' table showed that the exchange between politics and citizens is of great importance. The party plans to further deepen its concept of citizen-oriented politics and to regularly offer events of a similar nature in the future. In this way, one could continue to stay in close contact with the concerns of the local people.

In conclusion, these types of gatherings can enrich political life in the region and lead to an improved quality of life for all involved. The current challenges are not only topics for the political agenda, but also opportunities for constructive dialogue.
