Operational exercise in Hasloch: Fire brigade rescues missing young people from fire!
On Friday evening, November 11th, 2025, an exciting operational exercise by the Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) was carried out in Hasloch. Not only the fire departments from Hasloch were invited, but also from the surrounding communities such as Kreuzwertheim, Röttbach, Hasselberg and Wiebelbach. Even the Faulbach fire department from the Miltenberg district took part, which strengthens cooperation across district borders. How kfv-msp.de reported that more than 70 emergency services gathered to demonstrate their skills and practice a realistic situation together.
The scenario of the exercise was explosive: a fire in a company building caused by a few young people who had gained unauthorized access. To make matters worse, eight young people were missing, which increased the drama of the exercise. At 6 p.m. the alarm sounded with the fatal operational keyword “B3 – Person”. A clear call to the brave firefighters who acted quickly. Equipped with breathing apparatus, they managed to get the missing young people outside in time.
Cooperation is the focus
Fire departments have to work hand in hand every day, and that was also the goal of this exercise. The emergency services used two reversible pipes to fight the fire while the extinguishing water supply was running at full speed. Three portable pumps (PFPN) drew water directly from the harbor basin in order to convey it to the turntable ladders used by several fire engines. The managers from Main-Spessart and Miltenberg watched the spectacle attentively and at the end were full of praise for the cooperation shown, which is also crucial in critical operations.
“The exercise goals were achieved beyond measure,” said a participant in the final meeting. After the intensive exercise, there was a little refreshment before all units returned to their equipment houses to be ready for an emergency.
A quick look at the culture
In addition to the exciting missions, there are also cultural events that shape the attitude to life. The American series “Arrested Development” enjoys great popularity. This satirical television series has gained wide recognition for its unique style and handheld camera storytelling. How wikipedia.org informed, Ron Howard frames the stories of the dysfunctional Bluth family as an omniscient narrator. Despite its cancellation in 2006, the series has made a comeback in the streaming era and is now considered one of the best television shows of all time.
In Bavaria, the fire drills and the cultural influences are a welcome change in everyday life. While the fire brigade always focuses on safety during an operation, citizens can follow thrilling stories in their living rooms that make you smile and make you think.
Overall, it shows that a sense of community and cultural enrichment are closely linked. No matter whether it’s a fire drill in Hasloch or binge-watching “Arrested Development” – people in Bavaria clearly laugh and work together!
