Culture Prize 2026: Submit suggestions now and win 5,000 euros!

In the Kronach district the motto is again: Clear the stage for creative talent! Again Wiesentbote reports, the culture prize will be announced for 2026. As is well known, this prize is awarded during each term of office of the district council and recognizes the cultural commitment of individuals or groups who have made a special contribution to cultural life in the region.

Applications and suggestions can now be submitted to the district culture department under the subject “Culture Prize 2026”. Submissions can be made directly to the district culture department on Siechenangerstrasse in Kronach or conveniently by email to kultur@Lra-kc.bayern.de. To ensure that everything is in order, the proposals must be submitted including detailed reasons and the consent of those proposed.

Submission details and deadlines

For everyone who would like to take part, the deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, January 30, 2026. The culture prize is endowed with a whopping 5,000 euros, and there are also two funding prizes of 750 euros each. This should appeal to many art and culture enthusiasts who would like to take the opportunity to put their talents in the spotlight.

It is important to note that the award winners must be born in the Kronach district, live there for a while or whose cultural work is important for the district. To ensure that the selection of the award winners is fair and transparent, it is made by the Committee for Schools, Culture and Sport.

More than just an award

The culture prize is intended not only to recognize what has already been achieved, but also to provide incentive for future commitment. Every citizen of the district has the opportunity to make suggestions and thus actively participate in promoting cultural diversity in the region. The city of Nuremberg reports on its annual cultural prizes worth a total of 20,000 euros, which are awarded to artists and institutions that are closely linked to the city. Proposals for the 2026 Cultural Awards can also be submitted there until May 15, 2026 ( Nuremberg culture ).
