Summer reception in Cham: Hot temperatures and festive mood!

Last Friday, this year's summer reception took place in the Cham town hall, and it was a truly hot reception - with 38 degrees in the shade. However, the unbeatably high temperature was not an obstacle for the approximately 300 guests who came in the unclimatized foyer. Mayor Martin Stoiber and Brigadegeneral Axel Hardt warmly welcomed the people present, creating a relaxed, happy atmosphere.

The event was organized by the city of Cham in close cooperation with Panzerbrigade 12 Upper Palatinate. Among the guests were the mayors from the neighboring cities, which could be happy about the positive development Cham. During the reception, a wind text set of the Army Music Corps caused musical highlights that accompanied the summer evening.

A few weeks earlier, on April 26, 2023, the ceremony for the 100th anniversary of the Joseph-von Fraunhofer-Gymnasium took place, where Mayor Martin Stoiber was also present. Almost 200 guests of honor are participated in this historical event, which took place in a festively decorated and illuminated break hall. Deputy headmistress Sigrid Schiedermeier and her team made a significant contribution to planning this spectacle.

Minister of State Michael Piazolo and Ministerial Representative Anette Kreim emphasized the importance of education for the region and did not miss the opportunity to deliver greetings. District Administrator Franz Löffler also spoke and emphasized the need for investments in the school landscape, while Stoiber praised the training at Fraunhofer-Gymnasium. Special highlights were the musical, artistic and sporty performances of students who vividly framed the evening.

A look into the future

The art class of the high school showed an exhibition over the next 100 years of the school, which ventured an outlook on future developments. A cinematic contemporary witness project, produced by Tim Fuchs, offered the guests an insight into the history of the high school. In order to emphasize the memories of this special evening, the guests of honor received a commemorative publication and a documentary on USB stick.
