The citizens' festival particularly addressed families on Sunday. Parents and children enjoyed the colorful offers and activities. The satisfied restaurateurs offered a culinary delightful offer: from Dutsch to freshly grilled mackerel to diverse regional delicacies, there was something for every palate. The music of the "King Size Youngsters" caused a good mood on the lower market, while the little guests got brilliant faces while making children's painting.

The program was colorful and varied, so that something was offered for everyone. Six stages in the old town provided musical entertainment. The city and youth brass band could be heard from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the upper market, followed by Pino Barone in the afternoon. The lower market, on the other hand, became the scene of local and national bands such as "The Strand Runners" and "Johnny Gold". The DJs on Schlörplatz were also welcome, which were particularly popular with younger festivals. The Weiden-Region also emphasizes that there was a special highlight on Saturday evening with the band "Highline".

Another highlight was the line dance of the Tänthessee Fire Liner’s in Judengasse, which spread a lot of fun and a firm mood. And the cultural scene was also not neglected: the “sin” was active at Mariánské Lázně-Platz and delighted the visitors with a creative program.

The organization of the festival was in the proven hands of Gertrud Wittmann, who has been responsible since 2006. New this year was the expansion to two festive days, which, according to Mayor Jens Meyer, was very well received. The security forces, including the police and the Red Cross, were on site and ensured a safe pleasure. International guests from cities such as Issy-les-Moulineaux and Macerata had also come to experience the citizens' festival in Weiden.

For the journey, it was recommended to use public transport, since the old town was largely closed to traffic. And for everyone who wanted to visit the festival, there were practical tips: comfortable shoes, weather -adapted clothing and cash should be there. The master brewer Lino Molter also provided the "Sud 1" festival beer, which gave the celebrations the right swing.
