On Friday afternoon there was a traffic accident on the A93 between Schwandorf-Nord and Schwarzenfeld, which caused minor to moderate injuries to four young women. Loud Central Bavarian A 20-year-old from Weiden realized that she was slowing down too late due to traffic and collided with a small car after driving into the rear of a Mercedes.
In the accident, which occurred in the direction of Hof, the female passengers aged 17 to 20 were involved in the Eco-Drive vehicle that had the accident. Three ambulances and an emergency doctor were immediately sent to the scene of the accident to treat the injured women.
Traffic disruptions and rescue efforts
During the rescue work, traffic was diverted past the scene of the accident, which led to a lengthy backlog. The fire departments from Fronberg, Wackersdorf and Schwandorf were deployed to secure the accident site and clean the road. Tobias Rester, commander of the FF Fronberg, led the operations on site. The damage to the vehicles was estimated at around 30,000 euros and both vehicles had to be towed.
