Start of the season! DEG vs. Rosenheim: The fight for the DEL2 victory begins!

On Friday, September 19, 2025, the starting signal for the new ice hockey season in DEL 2 will be given, and the anticipation is noticeably increasing in Rosenheim. At 7:30 p.m. the Starbulls Rosenheim welcome the Düsseldorfer EG (DEG), who are competing this season after being relegated from the DEL. Already in the 1990s, narrow bandwidths emerged between the fans of both teams, which continue to be maintained today.

In the new season, DEG has geared everything up for a fresh start. Those responsible have put together a completely new team to meet the challenges of the league. Captain Maximilian Faber is optimistic about the upcoming away games in which DEG will take part. The first home game after the start in Rosenheim will take place on September 28th against Kaufbeuren.

Rosenheim on the rise

The Starbulls Rosenheim want to use the home advantage and are looking for the start against the DEL relegated DEG as an opportunity to set an example straight away. Things went very promising for the Rosenheimers in the preparatory games. With a win against ESV Kaufbeuren (3:1) and Eisbären Regensburg (4:1) they can look back on some successes, although a narrow setback against the Blue Devils Weiden (2:3 n.V.) mars the perfect start.

This season, Rosenheim will play at home three times in a row, which will certainly benefit the fans. After the game against DEG, the duel against EV Landshut, who showed strong performances in preparation, follows on Sunday, September 21st. The first three games conclude with the encounter against Regensburg on Friday, September 26th.

A look at the competitive situation

Rosenheim is one of five Bavarian clubs in the league and the competition is strong. The opponents include teams like EV Landshut, which plays under coach Uwe Krupp, and Regensburg, which has strengthened itself with newcomers like Guillaume Naud and Sam Payeur. The referees will also be reorganized this season, as the German Ice Hockey Association has taken over responsibility for the referees in the DEL2 and Gordon Schukies comes into play as the new representative.

The fan friendships that exist between the DEG and Starbulls supporters form a wonderful basis for an exciting season. Antenne Düsseldorf will broadcast all DEG home games live, so that fans can keep their finger on the pulse of the action even outside of Rosenheim. The ice hockey fever has begun and both the players and fans can prepare for an eventful season.

So there's only one thing left to say: Let's go to Rosenheim and Düsseldorf, to the first game and to many exciting matches in the new season!
