Toy Run 2025: Over 1000 bikers collect donations for children in need!
Today, June 21, 2025, over 1,000 motorcyclists are gathering in Ostallgäu for a very special occasion - the Toy Run. This annual event, organized by the Toy Run Mod association, is much more than just a motorcycle ride. It primarily serves a good cause: collecting donations for needy children and families in the region.
Registration for participants begins at 1 p.m. at the Modeon festival site, where everyone will receive a Toy Run bear. At 3 p.m. sharp, the colorful column sets off at a speed of around 60 km/h. The route leads from Marktoberdorf via several towns back to Modeon and takes around 90 minutes. And while the bikers are on the move with a lot of heart and engine noise, the spectators can look forward to a lively atmosphere. They also have the opportunity to help children through their donations and to watch what is happening live.
A strong shared commitment
The idea of the Toy Run was born in 2003 after a child in the hospital had no toys available. Since then, the event has developed into one of the largest charitable motorcycle rides in southern Germany. Every year, 100 percent of the donations collected go to supporting children in need - be it for clothing, school supplies, rent or shopping vouchers.
The Toy Run Mod association, which was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization, has collected more than 140,000 euros for disadvantaged children and their families since it was founded. Transparency is very important here because the cash management can be viewed publicly. And the commitment goes far beyond the main event: the association is also present at the Marktoberdorf Christmas market and provides information about its work.
A look into history
The motivation for founding the association was a personal tragedy: in the fall of 2002, a child was diagnosed with cancer, which was the impetus for the first charity trip in 2003. At that time, the playroom of a children's cancer ward was financially supported. Since then, the event has developed further and the response from the public has been consistently positive.
The organizers ask all road users to show understanding for possible traffic disruptions during the exit. Parts of the route will be closed by local fire departments to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Sunny and warm temperatures are forecast for today, which should only give even more impetus to a successful toy run. Support the association's important work and enjoy the trip together, which not only moves the streets but also hearts. The motorcycle riders prove once again that you can achieve a lot with a good knack for working together and a strong drive.
