Festive sounds: Schönberg Library invites you to its 90th anniversary!

The library in Schönberg near Lauf will be 90 years old in 2025! This special anniversary will be celebrated with a festive concert on Sunday, June 22nd at 2:30 p.m. in the church garden. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the event will take place in the church. A highlight of the afternoon is the group’s performances Box gallop from Bamberg, who plays her way into the hearts of little listeners with Franconian songs for children.

The concert is aimed primarily at older kindergarten children, elementary school students and their families. BR presenter David Saam will lead the event and, in addition to his moderation skills, will also demonstrate his talent on the accordion. He is accompanied by a double bass and helikon, which gives the entire program a well-rounded musical note. The stories told during the concert are about the friends Michel and Elisabeth and invite you to sing and jump along.

Free entry and a cozy atmosphere

Admission to the celebration is free and it is recommended that you bring cushions or blankets to make yourself comfortable. The library opens its doors from 2 p.m. and visitors can look forward to a varied program. At a time when cultural events are particularly important, the library not only shows its commitment to the community, but also its importance as a place for learning and exchange.

There are around 11,000 libraries in Germany that play a central role in the educational landscape. With around 205 million annual visits, they are the most heavily used cultural and educational institutions. Libraries not only offer access to books, but also promote the reading, information and media skills of their users. As places for encounters and lifelong learning, they are more than just a collection of media. In fact, there are over 364 million media units available to users that are regularly borrowed.

Commitment to culture and education

The library in Schönberg is a wonderful example of this commitment and with the upcoming concert will once again demonstrate how important cultural events are in the region. A successful festival that both celebrates the library's long tradition and highlights the joy of making music together with visitors young and old. So you can look forward to the anniversary, which will certainly be an unforgettable experience for all participants.
