New shine at the ZOB: renovation successfully completed and ready for bus travelers!
The city of Nuremberg proudly presents the newly designed platforms at the central bus station (ZOB). The public space service company Nuremberg (Sör) has successfully completed the renovation work on this busy traffic junction. From now on, bus passengers can use the modernized facilities, which are not only more practical, but also make traveling more pleasant. According to reports from Nuremberg.de and Market mirror The measures were all about improving the quality of stay.
The ZOB is located on Käte-Strobel-Straße, between the main train station and Willy-Brandt-Platz, just a stone's throw from the historic old town. The renovation work, which was carried out over a period of two months and cost a total of 440,000 euros, includes various improvements. For example, a continuous roof was installed in the western stop area to provide travelers with protection from wind and rain.
New amenities for travelers
In addition, three transparent windbreaks were installed to further increase comfort. A newly created waiting area now offers 18 seats with back and armrests, making waiting for the next bus much more pleasant. On the eastern platforms there are four new benches with intermediate backrests and windbreaks, which also invite you to stay for a short time.
Christian Vogel, mayor and first Sör factory manager, was very positive about the measures implemented. He emphasized that the redesign comes just in time for the opening of the popular Christkindlesmarkt, a time that is crucial for tourism in Nuremberg.
Connection to Nuremberg’s warm atmosphere
The changes at the ZOB contribute significantly to Nuremberg's friendly and inviting atmosphere, which delights tourists and locals alike. The city is showing that it has a good hand when it comes to improving public facilities. It remains to be seen how the new amenities will be received by travelers. But one thing is certain: such an upgrade brings a breath of fresh air into the everyday lives of bus users in this beautiful city.
