Exhibitionist in Munich: Repeated assault on train arrested!
An incident in Munich is causing a stir, once again bringing the problem of exhibitionist acts into focus. The Federal Police reported that on Thursday, June 12, a 65-year-old man harassed a 29-year-old woman on the RE 3 regional express. She worked as a physiotherapist in forensics and noticed the inappropriate actions of the man sitting in a four-person compartment opposite. Bravely, she secretly filmed his movements with her smartphone and managed to engage him in conversation, which eventually made him stop his actions.
After the incident fortunately ended without further incident, the train attendant informed the federal police at the main station. The officers were able to arrest the man on platform 24. It turned out that he had already carried out a similar action on the same train the day before. In addition, the perpetrator, who had previously regularly come into conflict with the law, had already served several convictions for similar offenses.
Further investigation
In a separate but equally worrying incident in Munich, a 21-year-old woman was harassed by three men while she sat in her partner's car. How tz.de reported that one of the men came to the passenger window and performed sexual acts on himself. After the men were asked about their behavior, they fled the scene. The police were informed immediately and were able to arrest three suspects. One of them, a 25-year-old man, was charged with exhibitionist acts and was subsequently released. The Munich criminal police have taken over the investigation.
These incidents are increasing in frequency, and a current survey by the Federal Criminal Police Office shows that the number of cases of exhibitionist acts and causing public nuisance in Germany has shown a worrying trend since 2014. The Statista has published comprehensive data on this, which shows that the number of registered cases has increased in recent years.
Society is faced with the challenge of responding to such abuse and ensuring safety in public spaces. The police are encouraging those affected to act courageously and report incidents to prevent further attacks.
