Kaufbeuren celebrates Josef Pelzl: 95 years full of commitment and friendship!

On July 24, 2025, there was a special occasion for the celebration in Kaufbeuren: Josef Pelzl, an estimated and long -time city council, turned 95. City councilor Gertrud Gellings brought the congratulations from Mayor Stefan Bosse and paid tribute to Pelzl's commitment and his invaluable contribution to the city's community. Pelzl, who was born in Dittersdorf in the district of Moravian Trübau in 1930, can look back on an impressive life story.

Despite the modest conditions in his childhood, which he spent with his grandparents, the jubilee sees back on a fulfilled youth. After his resettlement in August 1946, he began an apprenticeship as a chief in 1948. In May 1965, he founded the family business Pelzl Heizungsbau, which quickly established himself as a respected craft company. Pelzl was a member of the city council for over 24 years and also actively campaigned in the parish council.

commitment and social ties

Josef Pelzl not only took on political responsibility, but also maintained the cemetery in Hirschzell for over 40 years, which illustrates his strong commitment to the community. With his family, consisting of four children, nine grandchildren and four great -grandchildren, he is a firmly rooted part of the village life. Despite health setbacks, he stays fit and mobile at the age of 95, uses his swimming pool every day if it allows health.

music is another important part of his life. As a founding member and honorary member of the Hirschzeller brass band, he was also the second board and active musician for many years. In addition, he is a member of the shooting club and maintains close friendships, which he lovingly calls "pile". The sociable cooperation with dancing and card games is very important to him and underlines his joie de vivre.

recognition at international level

fur has been working at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at the Ruhr University Bochum for 32 years and has been emeritus since 2006. Even after retirement, he remains actively in research. The award ceremony took place during the international conference ICPPP17 in Suzhou, China, and shows how much fur work is valued in the scientific community.

Another remarkable aspect of his life is that Pelzl has handwritten his life biography in a 160-page report. In it he describes his experiences at work, his entrepreneurial spirit, the importance of his family, friendships, travel and memories of his late wife Dori.

Josef Pelzl is not only a proud citizen of Kaufbeurens, but also a man with a variety of facets - be it in politics, in science or in social life. His life story inspires many and shows that commitment, friendship and love for music form the cornerstones of a fulfilled life.
