95 years of Hiltrud Knab: A life for children and happily celebrated!
On August 17, 2025, the small town of Kaufbeuren was dedicated to Hiltrud Knab's special birthday. The sprightly senior citizen celebrated her 95th birthday, and the joy over this important phase of her life could not be overlooked. The third mayor Dr. Erika Rössler brought warm congratulations on behalf of the city and hoped that Hiltrud Knab can also celebrate her 100th birthday. “Your good health is our wish for the next few years,” said Rössler.
Hiltrud Knab, born on July 30, 1930 in Marktbreit am Main, has been pulling the strings of her life in Kaufbeuren since 1954. At that time she followed her husband into the city. The couple raised eight children together, a truly impressive undertaking. A deep turning point in her life was the death of her youngest daughter Monika, a severe blow of fate that the family had to bear.
A life for the children
When asked about the most beautiful thing in her life, Hiltrud Knab answered without hesitation: “My children.” This phrase not only reflects her love for her family, but also her tireless commitment to children's rights. She actively campaigned for the protection of unborn children, gave lectures and organized information stands to raise awareness of these important issues.
In addition, she was a member of the editorial team of the parish newsletter of the “Holy Family” parish for 35 years. A contribution that shows their deep connection to the community. With a smile, she expressed gratitude for her good health and humorously suggested that the Franconian wine might have played a part in it.
