The event, which has been held since 1984, has a demanding competition over 3.8 kilometers swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42.195 kilometers running.

Bauer has decided to master the complete distance in less than nine hours, ideally in 8 hours and 50 minutes. He could thus undercut the club's record of his regional league team Twin Neumarkt by one minute. "There is something!"
