In Freising in August everything revolves around exercise and health! The city is organizing the sports week “Sport in the Park 2025” together with five clubs and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). This colorful series of events aims to appeal to citizens of all ages and fitness levels and to promote active cooperation. The whole thing is organized by Freising city administration and runs from August 1st to August 30th, 2025 in the picturesque Savoyard Au.
The program is truly diverse and offers lots of activities that are not only fun but also promote health. Whether beginner or advanced – everyone will find something to their taste here. There are a total of 13 different courses on 61 dates, and the best thing about it: Participation is free and without obligation. Anyone who would like to try out new sports is warmly invited, as no previous knowledge is required. The offer includes, among other things, stick shooting, boogie basics, Nordic walking, running training and many more, such as LC Freising reported.
Program highlights of the sports week
The next week promises exciting experiences. There are several activities on the program on Monday, August 18, 2025. You can take part in stick shooting from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or take part in the running meet (3/5 km), which starts at 6:00 p.m. in the stadium. The popular jujutsu courses and Nordic walking are also included this week. The activities take place at various locations in the Savoyard Au, including the Hartplatz and the Stockschützenplatz. Camp table offers that combine both fitness and sociability make many hearts beat faster!
On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, a special full-body workout awaits participants from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will also be training for the German sports badge - a great opportunity to challenge yourself sportingly. Wednesday begins with an early Pilates class, followed by other exciting activities such as Taiji and Jujutsu.
Health and community in focus
The sports week not only aims to get participants moving, but also to promote healthy awareness. Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher officially launched the series of events with the opening ceremony on August 1st, setting the ball rolling to make citizens more aware of the need for more exercise in everyday life.
