On June 15, 2025, the time has come again: The popular Nördlinger city run invites all running euphorists and small athletes to go on the routes. The starting signal is located at 3:45 p.m. on the market square, where there will be a lot of energy and anticipation in the air. In view of the registration deadline, which will soon get closer, the best time is now to register for the event.

The little ones, the born in 2019 and younger, can already complete a distance of 400 meters around the St. Georgskirche. At 4:00 p.m., the students from the 2016 to 2018 are followed by an even bigger challenge, and at 4:15 p.m. it is the turn of the runners from the years 2013 to 2015. This group will run two rounds before the main run starts at 4:45 p.m. The route for the large runners comprises 6 kilometers, while the short distance is 3 kilometers.

As with every well -organized event, there are also some important rules that the participants should consider. Dogs on a leash are not allowed on the day of the event, and if you want to compete with headphones or in-ear headphones, you should better rethink the plans, because these are not tolerated. In addition, personal bike supports are prohibited and can lead to disqualification. With the smaller ones, it is important that parents only register their children if they can dispute the rounds independently.

In connection with child light athletics, some things have changed. For example, the German Athletics Association (DLV) decided on February 26, 2016 to make changes to the German Athletics Ordinance. These changes must be adopted by the WLV, as a member association. From 2017, a uniform, paperless system for approval of events was also sought to facilitate the process for everyone involved. All events that take place at the club and district level must also be registered with the WLV.

Current developments

Children's athletics itself is subject to the provisions that were decided on February 25, 2011 and were last updated on July 25, 2014. Disciplines such as the classic three -way battle are no longer permitted for the age groups U8 and U10. In the U12, however, both children's light athletics disciplines and international competitive regulations may be used. In order to make the event even more interesting, the obligation to start is also dispensed with, so that the young athletes can take part in carefree.

The organization around the Nördlinger Stadtlauf not only offers a great competition for the participants, but also promotes the community and sports thoughts in the region.
