Hinterhoffestival in Dachau: art and culture return!

something happens in Dachau! Recently, the cultural institutions such as the Café "Gramsci", the "New Gallery" and the Culture Schranne have been temporarily closed. This has brought about some changes for the Dachau artist Association (KVD), which is now temporarily in exile while the cultural cabinet is being renovated. But the KVD has not lost the courage. You have found new rooms in a hidden courtyard, just 200 meters from the cultural chest. A new exhibition space for creativity that is now to be celebrated with a special event.

Florian Marschall, board member of the KVD, is planning a backhoffestival that could be a fixture in the Dachau cultural calendar. This festival runs until July 9 and is intended to put the new location in the right light. With numerous events, the festival offers visitors an exciting mix of art and culture.

The program of the Hinterhoffestival

This day, June 11th, a very special event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the KVD backyard: a reading from the novel "Die Molche" by Volker "Hugo" Widmann. Admission is free and takes place in any weather, which makes the event particularly accessible. This event should not only address literary friends.

The backhoff festival has a lot more to offer. On June 18, Martin Off will be on stage with a combination of songs, sound paintings and his own and interpreted pieces. A week later, on June 25th, Georg Glasl is a guest with "The Lightning Karschalls", who promise a very special magical evening with a Notturno made of zither and light. On July 2, “Loopin Lab” is expected, a creative mix of imagination and fun, while Norbert Göttler will provide interesting insights into Bavarian and High German literature on July 9th with his reading “Striahbäsn-Blues”.

The KVD has taken the chance to spice up the new space through lively exhibitions. The “Fundland” exhibition has been running since June 6, which deals with the perception of the direct environment and focuses on organic and fleeting elements. Among other things, impressive photos of Ramón Grote are shown. This exhibition runs until June 29 and is worth a visit to experience the creativity of the artists up close.

In addition, the vernissage for the next big exhibition, "Schlossball", will take place on August 3, the portraits of special people from Dachau and the district will be presented. The exhibition itself will be seen from August 3 to September 2nd.

The backhoff festival and the new exhibitions in the KVD bring a fresh wind to the Dachau cultural scene. Now it means: Give out and experience this cultural exchange!
