Urgent warning: Drinking water in Dachau remains contaminated!
Today, November 5, 2025, the Dachau municipal utility company gave an important update on the drinking water supply, which is of great importance for many citizens. As the City of Dachau reported, the boil water requirement remains in force. This not only affects the city of Dachau itself, but also surrounding areas.
In the last few days, extensive water samples were taken on Münchner Straße to check the effectiveness of the flushing measures carried out. The good news: The results show a remarkable decrease in coliform contamination. It is particularly noteworthy that samples for E. coli, intestinal enterococci and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were unremarkable.
Continued caution and measures
Although the situation has improved, the municipal utilities and the Dachau health department are in constant coordination to fully restore the drinking water quality. Flushing of the Münchner Straße network continued again and further samples were taken in the area. Citizens are asked to be patient while the measures are finally evaluated.
The boiling water requirement currently applies to the following areas:
- Dachau, Obergrashof, Webling, Steinkirchen
- Günding, Im Lus, Kienaden, Feldgeding, Neuhimmelreich, Gröbenried in Bergkirchen
- Alte Bayernwerkstraße, Am Tiefen Graben, Bajuwarenstraße 6 und 8 in Karlsfeld
The city administration indicates that a partial lifting of the boiling water requirement in individual parts of the city could be considered, provided that further water samples also prove to be unremarkable.
Looking outside the box: The role of technology
This type of technology shows the importance of finding innovative solutions in all areas of life - including public health. Even though dealing with AI and digitalization brings challenges, it is essential that we adapt and take advantage of the opportunities presented by such technologies.
But back to drinking water: The news from Dachau clearly shows how important monitoring and ensuring water quality is. The municipal utilities therefore ask for your understanding of the existing restrictions and promise to do everything in their power to be able to supply safe drinking water again soon.
Stay informed and healthy!
