Family adventure day at the Lindenhof: Discover a feast for the senses!
On Sunday, July 20th, the outdoor area of the Lindenhof Environmental Protection Information Center in Bayreuth will be transformed into a place full of joy and active participation. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Bayreuth Family Alliance, visitors can look forward to the family adventure day “A Feast for the Senses”, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual highlight is aimed at families and offers an extensive program for young and old. Bayreuth.de reports on various hands-on stations that invite you to discover the world of the senses in a playful way.
It's not just the little explorers who get their money's worth: At the campfire, participants can bake fresh stick bread or "mix" homemade iced tea. An exercise course ensures that your sporting skills are also put to the test. At 3 p.m., Mayor Thomas Ebersberger will give a welcoming speech and report on the family alliance's projects. Afterwards, the hands-on concert by the samba group “Sam Bareit” at 3:15 p.m. will put you in a good mood and invites everyone to actively participate.
Creativity and fun for everyone
A highlight of the day is the opportunity to make musical instruments, which can be designed throughout the day. All creative minds are invited to take part in the family quiz, where the winners will be determined with a wheel of fortune at 4 p.m. Snacks and drinks are offered at family-friendly prices, so empty stomachs don't have to wait long. The parking lot is located at the university's TAO building, making travel convenient.
The festival not only thrives on its exciting offerings, but also on the broad support of local exhibitors. The Office for Children, Youth and Families, the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and many other organizations are involved. The exhibitors include, for example, the Bayreuth City Youth Association, the Bayreuth District Association for Horticulture and Land Management and the State Association for Bird Protection e.V. Bayreuther Tagblatt highlights the participation of these groups and sees the family festival as a great platform for interactive learning opportunities and joint celebrations.
Celebrate and create sustainably
The family festival not only has an entertaining aspect, but also a sustainable one. More and more events are placing emphasis on environmentally conscious design. The [WWF](https://www.wwf.de/aktiv- Werden/tipps-fuer-den-alltag/familienaktivitaeten/familienfeste-nachhaltig- Feiern) suggests using favorite objects and natural materials when decorating to create a special atmosphere. Homemade decorations can be supplemented with twigs, cones or flowers, which promotes creativity and strengthens the connection to nature.
Overall, the family adventure day at the Lindenhof promises to be a colorful and varied festival that offers a great insight into the family alliance's communal activities and projects. So, pack up the family and come along – discovering and celebrating together is twice as much fun!
