On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the Open Monument Day will take place in Bayreuth. Under the motto “Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable?” Visitors are offered the opportunity to discover cultural treasures and important buildings in the region. The focus is on the topic of wood as a building material, especially in the Bayreuth Festival Hall, which plays a special role with its historic wooden structures. At the town church, Dean Jürgen Hacker invites you to a guided tour at 2 p.m., while church tower tours begin at 1 p.m. Young people and children in particular get their money's worth in the art museum in the Old Town Hall: from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. there is a course on "perspective drawing," and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. they can get creative at the workshop "I'm building a monument for...". Guided tours of the exhibition “Francisco de Goya / George Grosz – Dream and Reality” are also planned.
