Shine with lights and enjoyment: Kempten's Christmas market is starting soon!

On November 10, 2025, many will be looking forward to the upcoming Advent season and the traditional Christmas markets in Bavaria, which form the heart of the festive atmosphere. A highlight is the Christmas market in Kempten, which will take place this year from November 26th to December 21st, 2025 on the town hall square. The ceremonial opening is carried out by the mayor and the Kempten Christ Child, who warmly welcome all guests.

The Kempten Christmas market attracts visitors with a colorful program that, in addition to a handicraft market, also includes a “Christmas train” and the Kempten nativity scene magic. Both the little ones and the big ones get their money's worth here. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. On November 29th there will be a long shopping night with particularly extended opening hours until 10 p.m. Entry to the market is free - you can look around at your leisure!

There is also a lot to offer in terms of gastronomy at the Kempten Christmas market: you can choose from hearty bratwurst rolls and raclette, while sweets lovers can look forward to roasted almonds, snowballs and tree striezel. For thirsty visitors there is various variations of mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle and non-alcoholic drinks. This makes every visit a culinary experience!

The market's supporting program is also not to be despised: on the last weekend there will be an arts and crafts market in the Schrannenhalle. A carousel delights the children, while the “Weihnachtsbähnle” runs through the city on a new route from Thursday to Sunday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Unfortunately there will be no music stage this year because the costs were too high - this is something many visitors regret.
