City archivist Franz Grundner takes an interesting tour through the history of this impressive water pipe, which once transported water from the source on Rösslekellerberg to the water greenhouse. The pump was powered by a water wheel and could transport up to 100 liters per minute. A large part of it was needed directly for the water wheel. After being commissioned in the 16th century, the aqueduct was active until 1900 when it was replaced by a public water supply. The remains of the wooden pipes were recently discovered during excavations and shed further light on the long history of this complex.
