Traffic chaos in Unterallgäu: Important road closures from Monday!
In the eastern Lower Allgäu it will soon be said again: “Be careful, detour!” As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported, the district road MN 10 between Zollhaus and Wiedergeltingen will be completely closed from Monday, September 29th. The reason for the measure is necessary work to renew the road surface on the Wertach Bridge. However, the footpath and cycle path is not affected for pedestrians and cyclists - good news for all cyclists and walkers! Detour instructions will be signposted in good time, namely via Türkheim and Türkheim train station.
This closure is one of a number of existing and upcoming construction sites in Lower Allgäu. For example, the main thoroughfare B16, also known as Mindelheimer Straße in Pfaffenhausen, has been closed for several months since September 2nd due to canal renovation. The state and district roads are also affected, which leads to changes in traffic routing.
New online service for traffic information
In order to keep an overview of the numerous construction sites and road closures, a new online service was launched. The district office and the Bavarian State Building Directorate have created the “Bayerninfo” overview map, which is available at kurierverlag.de is reachable. This platform provides a comprehensive overview of all major road closures and construction sites, so commuters and travelers are always informed.
District Administrator Alex Eder emphasizes the importance of this information, which is provided not only by highway departments, but also by state building authorities and municipalities. The data is even synchronized with various navigation systems, making trip planning easier. The goal is to provide a more accurate and reliable display for users.
Four sources - one voice
The information regarding the traffic disruptions comes from three important sources: the motorway directorate for the A7 and A96, the Kempten State Building Authority, which is responsible for federal and state roads, and the district building department, which monitors major construction work on the district road network. The police also play an important role in planning these projects, providing additional information on possible dangerous situations.
For everyone who prefers to choose a visual route, the ADAC offers its... ADAC Maps another useful service. Here you can see the traffic flow and short-term disruptions on the map in real time. The app also offers forecasts for the traffic situation on the day of departure, which could be particularly interesting for travelers on vacation.
The many construction sites and traffic disruptions may result in one or two delays, but these measures are necessary for a safe and long-lasting traffic infrastructure in the Lower Allgäu. Even if it can be difficult at times, the motto for everyone on the road is: “Always stay patient!”
