Young Voters Union: 60 candidates nominated for district council election in 2026!

In a well-attended meeting in Erkheim on November 6, 2025, the Young Voters Union (JWU) Unterallgäu nominated its 60 candidates for the upcoming district council election in 2026. The event was opened by Thomas Rauch, district chairman of the JWU, who warmly welcomed those present and emphasized the importance of the young generation's commitment to local politics. “We are here to make a difference,” said Rauch, who praised the nominees’ deep-rooted sense of home.

All elected candidates are already active in various clubs, organizations and initiatives in the district, which underlines their connection to the region. This is a clear indication that the JWU is not taking a “fair weather course” but rather wants to seriously get involved in the political landscape of the Lower Allgäu. The meeting also received support from prominent guests, including CSU district council candidate Verena Winter, who expressed her joy at the support of the JWU. She also emphasized the importance of working together for the further development of the district.

List of candidates and their diversity

The JWU candidate list was unanimously approved and shows a colorful mix of different parts of the district. This ensures a broad perspective and diverse experiences that can flow into political work. The top of the list is headed by Thomas Rauch, Martina Gleich and Markus Schindele. But the list offers many other talented personalities, such as Carina Seifert, Fabian Zinder, Ann-Kathrin Willer, Tobias Kotonski, Daniel Böhm, Antonia Jung and Maximilian Raith.

The selection of these candidates shows that the JWU has a good hand when it comes to sending committed and qualified personalities to the district council to meet the political challenges of the coming years. “We are well positioned and ready to take on responsibility,” said Markus Schindele, who is also confident about the future.

With a clear commitment to its homeland and the goal of actively involving the young generation in politics, the JWU Unterallgäu is well prepared for the coming elections. “There’s something going on!”, you might say. Maybe the breath of fresh air that the region needs will come with these new faces.
