Nuremberg author Manfred Seifert inspires with Christmas stories!
There is a very special event in the Schwabach City Library on Thursday, December 4th: Nuremberg author Manfred Seifert will read from his latest work “Dezember-Lese” at 5 p.m. The reading is entitled “Soon the light will shine brighter” and lasts until 5:45 p.m. Seifert, who is known far beyond the borders of his hometown, brings listeners closer to stories from the pre-Christmas season that reflect memories and inquiries. His book includes 31 stories that are perfect for the contemplative Advent season. Admission is free, but registration is required at malwebinder@yahoo.de or by phone at (09122) 634468.
Manfred Seifert, born in Baden, studied English and history at renowned universities such as Heidelberg, London and Würzburg. After his studies, he moved to Bavaria, where he worked as a high school teacher in Nuremberg and Neumarkt. Until 2011 he headed the English department at the Leibniz-Gymnasium Altdorf. Writing city stories, short stories and articles about 1. FC Nürnberg has now become his great passion. Seifert is also known for his reading series, which he organizes and leads in Nuremberg for Franconian authors.
An invitation to contemplation
The darker season calls on us to make our evenings cozy. Activities such as sitting in front of the fireplace, enjoying hot chocolate and, of course, reading good books are particularly popular. Christmas stories are ideal for this - they not only provide entertainment, but often also a deeper message. From chaotic characters like clumsy Christmas elves to villains who try to spoil the holiday, the good old Christmas moral can be found in numerous stories: In the end, good wins and the spirit of Christmas remains intact. These stories bring joy and warmth to the cold winter time and are a wonderful way to enjoy time together with family and friends.
The importance of reading theater is becoming more and more recognized for particularly young reading enthusiasts. This type of theater not only promotes reading fluency, but also children's ability to speak and express themselves. Ideal for Christmas lessons or at home, humorous and atmospheric texts ensure shared experiences and create a special atmosphere. The reading theater is designed to introduce children in elementary school and daycare to the fun of reading. Details and ordering options can be found on Barbara Rath's website, which is dedicated to this topic.
At this reading, Seifert will be part of the “Schwabach reads” literature series for the second time, having previously read miniatures about the world of books. It is an invitation to embark on a journey together through the last month of the year and let yourself be infected by the contemplative atmosphere.
Be there when the city library becomes the meeting place for all friends of beautiful Christmas stories on December 4th and let Manfred Seifert's stories cast a spell on you!
