With the introduction of the interaction project #Crowdsourcingrosenheim, the Rosenheim City Archives wants to make the city's historical heritage more accessible to all citizens. Today, on July 1, 2025, the official starting shot for this initiative, which aims to document the exciting history of the city through the active participation of the population. As rosenheim.de , the rose buckets can contribute to several ways: old photos are to be described, texts from historical documents are typed and personal knowledge is shared about important places, humans and events.

The project starts with over 1,000 aerial photographs from 1957 to 2004. These impressive recordings show a variety of parts of the city, striking buildings and social facilities and provide a look back at the development of Rosenheim over the past few decades. The city archive has assured that no special previous knowledge is required. Everyone is cordially invited to participate in the preservation of city history. Rosenheim's change over the years

Rosenheim has changed enormously since its appointment as the city in 1864 and the achievement of the freedom of the district in 1870. The city went through a phase of the spirit of optimism around the turn of the century from the 19th to the 20th century. The transition from an agricultural small town to an industrially shaped middle city was noticeably carried out.
