BSW plans brave entry: Local elections 2026 in Kaufbeuren!

The Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) has big plans for the municipal elections in 2026 in Kaufbeuren and in the Ostallgäu. The strategies and next steps were explained at a meeting in Buchloer Café Morizz on Pentecost Saturday. The Kaufbeurer city councilor Paul Meichelböck emphasized the need to grow structurally in the Allgäu in order to be successful in the upcoming elections. The atmosphere was shaped by a strong community spirit, and the participants were optimistic about the chances of choice.

Currently there are regular round tables in Kaufbeuren and Ostallgäu who aim to gain supporters for the common thing. Bernd Gramlich, the Buchlo City Council and the former SPD member, was confident that the BSW can take part in the city council election in Kaufbeuren. One expects the necessary number of support signatures to be achieved and considers two city council mandates to be achieved.

In the Ostallgäu, the situation is more difficult. Here the staff ceiling is thinner, which makes the candidacies difficult. Nevertheless, there is cautious optimism for possible candidates in Buchloe or Eggenthal. In order to continue to achieve and motivate the voters, the BSW is planning to continue the regulars' series in Buchloe, Kaufbeuren and Marktoberdorf. The next regulars' table will take place on July 6th in Kaufbeuren.

Another step in the activity of the BSW came from the two former members of the Left, Xaver Merk and Elmar Heim, who confirmed as a delegate at the first party congress of the BSW in Berlin! Your ambition is to promote the BSW in the district of Günzburg and in the Neu-Ulm district.
