A year full of success: School meets business in the Nuremberg region!
A lot is happening in the Nuremberg region: In its first year, the “School Economy Working Group” has noticeably advanced cooperation between schools and the economy. On November 3, 2025, a meeting took place in the Laufer Wenzelburg, at which the progress of the four working groups was presented. Heike Bolleininger, chairwoman of the working group, highlighted the successes the network has achieved. Particularly noteworthy is the development of criteria for qualified internships and the launch of our own website that brings employers and students together. n-land.de reports that a new event format, the “Day of Crafts”, has been successfully established at the Laufer Industrial Museum and a continuation is being planned.
What sounds good to the students' parents? Alexander Wexler emphasized the importance of involving parents in their children's professional orientation. “A student competition for product development and marketing concepts is organized by the active seniors,” said Wexler. Commitment to soft skills is also a central concern of the working group. The first workshop on this was already held at a middle school in cooperation with the adult education center, teachers and entrepreneurs.
New workshops and STEM initiatives
The future brings even more: Dr. Mirjam Pekar-Milicevic from the Laufer Economic Development Agency reported that further workshops are being planned. The topic of MINT – mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology – will be given increased focus in the future. A highlight of the meeting was the keynote speech by Prof. Stefan May from the Technical University of Nuremberg, who reported on the upcoming RoboCup. This World Robot Championship will take place in Nuremberg in 2027 and dedicated teams from the region, including the CJT-Gymnasium Lauf, will take part.
Rudolf Pausenberger, a teacher at the CJT-Gymnasium, is particularly active and gave insights into his activities with students from Robotik AG. At this meeting, Mayor Thomas Lang and District Administrator Armin Kroder emphasized the importance of the exchange between business and education. In this way, the basis is laid for future-oriented education that prepares students not only for exams but also for professional life.
Creative impulses from the digital world
With new character abilities and updated gameplay, players are offered a diverse range of possibilities. A particular focus is the partnership with Cirque du Soleil, which aims to attract users interested in creativity and entertainment. It will be exciting to see how this collaboration will impact the digital landscape and whether it will motivate other brands to get involved in a similar way.
The development both in the Nuremberg region and in the digital gaming world shows one thing clearly: There is clearly a lot of potential in the networking of business, education and creative digital initiatives.
