Green waste season in the Neustadt district: Last chance until December 6th!

In the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district, the green waste season is slowly coming to an end. The last chance to dispose of your garden waste properly is December 6th, 2025. Until then, users of organic waste bins can bring their green waste into the containers provided, as OberpfalzECHO reports.

Important to note: Only households that have a registered organic waste bin are allowed to use the green waste containers and corresponding collection points. If you compost yourself, you can only deliver rough branches. Lawn clippings, leaves and other plant residues must be recycled on your own property. From December 7th, the waste disposal companies will be busy clearing away the containers. From this point on, citizens will have to dispose of any green waste themselves through private waste disposal companies, which can result in additional costs.

Signpost for the disposal of organic and green waste

Anyone who has not yet dealt with the topic of disposal will find a lot of helpful information at RSAG. Compost and potting soil can be purchased at the RSAG disposal facilities in Sankt Augustin, Eitorf and Swisttal. You should bring a tarpaulin for transporting loose compost. Collection of bundled green waste up to 3 m³ is possible up to 13 times a year, but only after prior registration. Special requirements apply regarding bundle size and weight.

  • Bündelgröße maximal 100 x 50 x 50 cm
  • Maximal 35 kg je Bündel
  • Ast-Durchmesser maximal 8 cm
  • Keine Wurzeln erlaubt

There are also special applications that must be submitted for home composters so that collection goes smoothly. You can also register up to 3 m³ of bundled green waste by telephone or online. If you prefer to stick to the rules, you can also stock up on RSAG sacks and paper bags for pre-sorting, which are available at RSAG sales points.

Sustainable alternatives and recycling options

The proper disposal of green waste does not only play a role in local areas. The processing and recycling of this waste is also a central issue. Green waste offers several recycling options, such as composting. Fully automatic composting systems are used here, which use a special process to ensure aerobic treatment of the waste. These environmentally conscious methods ensure that the material is transformed into high-quality compost within three weeks, which can then be used in agriculture as well as gardening and landscaping. As Remondis describes, dry and woody parts can also be used as wood chips as an equivalent alternative to fossil fuels.

Please note: Illegal deposits after the containers have been removed or violations of the rules for home composters are administrative offenses and can be punished with fines. The district office will announce the start of the new 2026 season in good time so that citizens can look forward to another disposal offer.

Stay tuned and use the last days of the green waste season to act environmentally consciously and dispose of your garden waste correctly!
