Young sports heroes celebrated: Gala in the castle for outstanding achievements!

Youth on the move: In the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district, outstanding young athletes were recently honored for their remarkable achievements. On September 18, 2025, the traditional youth sports ceremony took place in the picturesque Sandizeller Castle in the most beautiful late summer weather. The event, which was prepared by Julia Reinold from the district office, counted numerous guests of honor, including district administrator Peter von der Grün (FDP) as well as mayors Andi Vogl (CSU) and Heinrich Seißler (FW). The district administrator carried out the honors personally and emphasized the importance of sports clubs for young people.

The athletes were honored for their successes in 2023 and 2024, with the criteria for the awards being high. New this year was the focus on placements such as the Bavarian Championships and the German title fights. In order to receive an award, athletes had to be under 26 years of age and, among other things, take first place at the Bavarian or German championships. [Donaukurier].

Excellent talents

The list of honored athletes is impressive. Emilia Fürhofer from Abendstern Ludwigsmoos set an exclamation mark with her German championship and 200 rings. In addition, the Danube Rowing Club Neuburg was particularly able to shine this year. With a total of 35 awards, the club was named the most successful. The other German champions included Lea Boysen from the Schrobenhausen Tennis Club and the synchronized swimming group from TSV 1862 Neuburg. Rebecca Hirsch from Donauruderclub Neuburg was also one of the highlights of the evening.

  • Deutsche Meisterschaften:
    • Lea Boysen (Tennisclub Schrobenhausen)
    • Synchronschwimmgruppe des TSV 1862 Neuburg
    • Rebecca Hirsch (Donauruderclub Neuburg)
  • Bronzemedaille: Vincent Hoiß (Donauruderclub Neuburg, 2er Kajak)
  • Sechster Platz: Paul Schleipfer (Weltmeisterschaft im Cheerleading)

For their achievements, all athletes received a voucher from District Administrator von der Grün, which represents a small appreciation for their commitment. Finally, an impressive fire show by the flame dancers from Rennertshofen rounded off the festive event.

Commitment to young talent

The commitment to sport and the promotion of youth in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district is still great. The district is already planning the next awards for young athletes in 2025. In this regard, a focus is already being placed on supporting sports clubs, which in recent years have been supported with over 30,000 euros for investments and over 57,500 euros for youth sports. Gloria Geissler-Brems from BLSV emphasized how important clubs are, which play a significant role in Bavaria with 4.7 million members in over 12,000 clubs.

The district also relies on creative ideas to get young people excited about sport. An initiative of the Federal Ministry of Youth was launched, which is intended to provide new impetus for sport with 2.2 million euros. However, registration for the upcoming award must be submitted by August 1, 2025. Information on this is available on the district office's homepage, where the relevant forms are also available. A good reason to look forward to the next successes! nag-bayern
