New chairman elected at the Catholic Education Center in Miesbach!
Finally there is a new chairman at the helm of the Catholic Education Center Miesbach (KBW): Werner Oberholzner will take the helm. This was decided at the last general meeting Mercury reported. The former high school director from Tegernsee brings a wealth of experience and fresh ideas to further expand the educational offerings in the district.
Oberholzner succeeds Mechtild Manus, who will serve as Schliersee's education officer in the future. Managing director Wolfgang Foit paid her respects at the handover and acknowledged her six years of service on the board, which had a decisive influence on the KBW. Under her leadership, the association has established itself in the region and has become an integral part of the educational landscape.
Tradition and diversity in educational offerings
The Catholic Education Center Miesbach, which was founded in 1973, can look back on a proud 52-year tradition in adult education. It not only supports socio-political education, but also promotes value-oriented considerations and addresses various target groups - from seniors to families. The offerings also include exchange opportunities for volunteers and include around 3,100 double hours each year in educational formats that range from the “Small Academy of Faith” to the “Culture – History – Customs” study series.
How CultureVision explains, the KBW has established itself as a fixture in the district and offers a wide variety of programs for all age groups. The courses are aimed at children, young people, parents, seniors and lifelong learners. A particular focus is on strengthening citizens' self-determination and sense of responsibility.
Commitment and future prospects
The KBW sees itself strongly linked to KulturVision's guiding principle of supporting “Growing Differently”. The partnership between the two institutions, which has existed since 2016, produces fresh and alternative ideas for the Oberland. A new chapter in the educational landscape is imminent, and the cooperation with the office, which currently has nine part-time employees, shows that the commitment to education remains very important.
Werner Oberholzner has the chance to put his stamp on the KBW and advance the already successful work. With his vision, he can help to identify society's educational needs and serve them in the best possible way. The KBW will continue to be organized as a non-profit association and remains committed to volunteerism, which strengthens the association's identity.
Stay tuned to see how the KBW will develop under the new management and what new educational initiatives will be offered to the citizens of the Miesbach district in the future.
