Munich in turmoil: Drunk attacker and exhibitionist shock!

A lot is currently happening in Munich when it comes to the safety of citizens. On June 11, a 36-year-old man at Karlsplatz, better known as Stachus, was arrested after severely exceeding his limits. According to Ad-Hoc-News, the man was not only drunk at 2.98 per mille, but also had a vodka bottle with him, which fell to the ground and broke. In an aggressive state, he attacked federal police officers, insulted them and damaged a company vehicle. He also threatened a 73-year-old man in his environment.

But that's not all: the 36-year-old is under supervision and has a court-ordered alcohol ban. He is now charged with several offenses such as threats, insults and attempted grievous bodily harm. During a blood sample, he continued to insult the emergency services, but no one was injured.

Looking for the exhibitionist

Parallel to this incident, the federal police are looking for an unknown exhibitionist who drew attention to himself on a regional express (RE 3) from the direction of Landshut that same evening. A 26-year-old woman informed the police after the man exposed himself in front of her and masturbated. The unknown person could ultimately no longer be found at Munich main station, even though he got on a train towards Augsburg (RE 9). The search is based on images from a video recording.

This incident is not the only one that concerns the federal police. On June 10th there were three difficult operations in the area of the main train station and in Giesing. A 22-year-old German man attacked officers around 1:40 a.m. after he was involved in a physical altercation. His aggression resulted in an officer requiring medical treatment and having to leave his service. These incidents clearly show that security challenges are increasing.

Crime statistics in focus

Recent events shed light on the development of crime in Germany. According to the police crime statistics (PKS), 2024 saw a decrease in crimes of 1.7% to around 5.84 million. This decline is partly attributed to the partial legalization of cannabis possession, as Statista reports. Nevertheless, there has been an increase in crimes that affect citizens' sense of security. These incoming numbers make it clear that despite overall declines in certain areas, concerns about safety are not easing.

The federal police therefore remain called upon, and citizens should also continue to be vigilant. While some of them have to deal with stressful situations, the hope remains that timely measures will be taken to control the rising crime rate.

The need for security and order remains high, and the continued exhibitionism on public transport is a discomfort that cannot be ignored. Let us not be discouraged and hope for more peace on the streets of Munich in the coming days.
