Students climb the Pressecker Knock: an excursion full of surprises!
What an exciting day for the students at the primary school in Marktleugast! On Thursday, November 17, 2025, the entire school went on a trip to the impressive Pressecker Knock observation tower. Before this big day, the children had intensively dealt with healthy eating, the apple as an important food, as well as waste separation and recycling. Such topics are not only interesting, but also important for growing up healthy, as emphasized by the initiative around food in daycare centers and schools, which advocates for balanced and sustainable nutrition BMLEH.
When they arrived at their destination, the children were able to enjoy a very special experience. Full of enthusiasm, they climbed 235 steps to the 45 meter high platform of the tower, which offered a breathtaking view of the picturesque landscapes of the Franconian Forest. The tower is not only accessible via an external staircase with spacious platforms, but these platforms also invite you to stop and admire nature again and again Franconian Forest Tourism.
A varied day of adventure
At the foot of the tower there was also a barefoot path, a climbing garden and exciting marble runs waiting for the children. These attractions offered the little explorers numerous opportunities for exercise and nature experience. Physical well-being was also taken care of: a healthy lunch was served at the rest area so that the students could explore the surroundings invigorated.
The trip to Pressecker Knock was the culmination of a week of action that not only informed the children about nutrition, but also gave them practical experience in dealing with healthy foods. Headmistress Annette Marx, the committed teaching staff and the magical students enthusiastically began the journey back to Marktleugast, full of new impressions and experiences that will certainly be remembered for a long time.
