Silver medal for Bavaria: Surprise chess talents from Kelheim!
Braunfels, Hessen, Deutschland - in Braunfels, Hesse, the 46th German Women's Team Championship of the State Association (DFMM-LV) in 2025 recently took place, and the chess players of SK Kelheim once again showed that they have a good hand for playing at the highest level. With a strong team performance, they achieved the silver medal together with their teammates from Bavaria and thus ensured a surprising success. Bayern went into the race as a defending champion, but was not at first place one in the seed list, but was only placed in eighth place among 14 teams. In the end, Bavaria, Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia were at the top, which increased the tension into immeasurable. The decision finally made the second rating. Württemberg was ultimately able to claim the championship title for himself with a tight book point ahead. Bavaria ended up in the excellent second place and thus secured the German runner-up title, as well as the chess-results.coma strong team
As part of the tournament, three players from the Bavarian team remained unbeaten: WFM Margarita Khrapko, Elisabeth Reich and Valentina Neumeier. This excellent result shows that the chess beginners from Kelheim and the experienced forces of the Bavarian team were able to achieve an impressive record together. This success is due to all players - they have established themselves as a fixture in German chess.
