Summer preparation is going like clockwork for FC Ingolstadt. The second test match against SpVgg Bayreuth took place on July 5, 2025, and the Schanzer continued their winning streak - they won the match 6-1. Before this encounter, the FCI had already achieved an impressive 5-0 win against VfB Eichstätt. The team's good form is obvious. The game against Bayreuth kicked off at 2:00 p.m. at 4th place in the Audi Sportpark in Ingolstadt, where numerous supporters had the opportunity to support their team live. Admission began at 1:00 p.m., an hour before kick-off, and everyone could be there for just 5 euros, while children and young people up to 12 years old had free entry.
The event was well organized: Parking was in the guest fan parking lot and food was also provided, although payment was only possible in cash. The atmosphere was relaxed and enthusiastic among the spectators, which only added to the motivation of the players.
Games and players in focus
The Schanzer didn't let anything go wrong in the game against Bayreuth. Frederik Christensen opened the scoring in the 28th minute, followed by a header from Kilian Michelbach in the 33rd minute, which made it 2-0. Marcel Costly increased the score to 3-0 just a few minutes later. In the second half, FC Ingolstadt showed its strength in the breadth of the squad, as they switched almost completely.

Outlook for the next challenges
The next challenges are already just around the corner. On August 2, 2025, FC Ingolstadt will play against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. This duel will certainly be an exciting test for the Schanzer, who will also be traveling to the training camp in Latsch in South Tyrol on Sunday in order to optimally prepare for the coming season.
So Ingolstadt is prepared and can go into the next test matches with a lot of optimism. It remains to be seen whether the team around coach Michael Köllner can maintain this form over the course of the season.
