FC Ingolstadt celebrates impressive 6-1 victory in the friendly against Bayreuth!

Am Sportpark 1b, 85053 Ingolstadt, Deutschland - For FC Ingolstadt, summer preparation runs like clockwork. On July 5, 2025, the second test game against SpVgg Bayreuth took place, and the Schanzer continued their success series - they won the match 6-1. Before this encounter, the FCI had already achieved an impressive 5-0 win against VfB Eichstätt. The good form of the team is therefore unmistakable. The kick -off for the game against Bayreuth took place at 2:00 p.m. in 4:00 p.m. in the Audi Sportpark in Ingolstadt, where numerous followers had the opportunity to support their team live. The admission started at 1:00 p.m., one hour before the kick -off, and everyone could be there for only 5 euros, while children and young people up to 12 years had free admission.

The event was well organized: parked at the guest fan car park, and catering was also taken care of, whereby the payment was only possible in cash. The atmosphere was loose and enthusiastic among the spectators, which only contributed to the motivation of the players.

Games and players in focus

The Schanzer did not burn anything in the game against Bayreuth. Frederik Christensen opened the goal series in the 28th minute, followed by a header from Kilian Michelbach in the 33rd minute, which was 2-0. Marcel Costly increased to 3-0 just a few minutes later. In the second half, FC Ingolstadt then showed its strength in the width of the squad, because they changed almost completely.

Julian Kügel returned after his injury and drew attention to himself with a double pack (69th and 86th minute). Yannick Deichmann was also allowed to enter the goal scorer list when he scored 5: 0 in the 76th minute. Bayreuth achieved an honor goal by Jann George in added time, which set the final result 6-1. An extremely impressive comeback after the long injury time of birds!

outlook for the next challenges

The next challenges are already around the corner. On August 2, 2025, FC Ingolstadt will compete against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. This duel will surely be an exciting exam for the Schanzer, who will also go to the training camp in Latsch in South Tyrol on Sunday to prepare optimally for the coming season.

Ingolstadt is therefore prepared and can go into the next test games with a lot of optimism. It remains to be seen whether the team around coach Michael Köllner can keep this form in the course of the season.
