Women in politics: equality now! Action day in Würzburg on October 18th.
What could be nicer than when women get actively involved in politics? This is needed more than ever in our communities, because equality cannot just be on paper. A look at the current figures shows that 51% of the population is female, but the proportion of women in local parliaments is only around 23%. That's still room for improvement! Nevertheless, the “Politics Needs Women” day of action, which has been held in Lower Franconia for eight years, is becoming increasingly popular. Loud Hassberge.de The great interest of Lower Franconian women in the events shows that the time is ripe for change.
With the aim of motivating women to participate in politics and providing them with tools for local politics, the next day of action will take place on October 18th in Würzburg. Of course, the variety of topics and the formats of the events are impressive: lectures, workshops, exchanges, encounters and networking are on the agenda. The response speaks for itself – the women are ready to network and become active. The next networking meeting of elected representatives in the Haßberge district is scheduled for September 25th.
Take political responsibility
Christine Stuhler, the equal opportunities officer, is passionate about women taking responsibility and getting involved politically. The meetings serve for non-partisan networking, exchange and mutual support so that women can make their voices and concerns heard more effectively. For the upcoming networking meeting, please register by email to egalstellung@hassberge.de.
In a future-oriented context, reference is also made to the local elections in 2026. The focus here should be on encouraging women to stand as candidates and join political bodies. The time for change has definitely come!
The role of the association municipalities
Another exciting aspect that should be taken into account in Bavaria's political landscape are the association municipalities. Among other things, these function as full-time local authorities and take on municipal tasks for smaller communities, which makes them responsible for competently managing the administrative business of the local communities. They are bound by the decisions of the local councils. Such structures are also necessary to better serve the needs of the population and to give all community members a voice. MFFKI.de points out that it is important that women are represented in these bodies in order to adequately reflect the voices of the entire population.
With all this information and upcoming events, the question is how many women will take advantage of their opportunity to enter politics. The first steps have been taken, now it's time to stick with it and show that politics is for everyone!
