Guntiafest 2025: A spectacle full of music and joy in Günzburg!
A very special event has established itself in the historic old town of Günzburg: the Guntia Festival, which has been celebrated every year on the last weekend in June since 1977. It will be that time again from June 28th to 29th, 2025, when countless guests will flock to the city to experience a colorful program full of music, dance and culinary delicacies. The event, organized by various local associations, attracts large numbers of participants and spectators every year. Augsburger Allgemeine reports that the parade will start on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Bgm.-Landmann-Platz, followed by the official opening by Mayor Gerhard Jauernig at 4:00 p.m.
What can visitors expect this year? There is a great program on Saturday, June 28th: from the opening parade, which kicks things off, to a varied dance program by VfL Günzburg. The children also get their money's worth with their own disco and various hands-on activities. In the evening, FC Günzburg will get the crowd celebrating with party time and a DJ. Another highlight is the rock beer garden at the Stadtgraben, which provides live bands from 7 p.m. onwards. Günzburg.de has also released further details about the planned activities and sponsors for the event.
Diversity for young and old
Sunday, June 29th, has just as many attractions in store. The MV Wasserburg's morning pint concert starts at 11:00 a.m. Here visitors can be comfortably entertained with brass music, while in the afternoon there are also exciting taekwondo demonstrations and dance performances by the students of the Mindeltalschule. There is a wide range of activities, especially for younger visitors, such as pony rides and face painting. The local history museum in the immediate area will offer interested visitors an insight into old traditions from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is another highlight with free admission. City festivals in Germany describes the various attractions that characterize the Guntiafest.
Of course, your physical well-being is also taken care of! From savory dishes to sweet treats and refreshing drinks, there is everything your heart desires.
