Officer school back at the air base: Air Force stays in Fürstenfeldbruck!

The Air Force Officers' School is returning to the Fürstenfeldbruck Air Base with part of its training measures. How Mercury reported, the officer school left the location in the summer of 2025 and moved into new buildings in Roth. The farewell was an emotional moment that was celebrated with a serenade. After all, the officers' school has been an integral part of the air base since 1977.

Although the officers' school is now looking for adequate premises, the air base continues to be used as a Bundeswehr site. The location remains the responsibility of the Air Force, but in the future it will be used for the basic training of young soldiers. The facilities in Roth prove to be inadequate to meet the requirements of the officer school.

Return to Fürstenfeldbruck

From January 2026, three aviation English courses will take place again in Fürstenfeldbruck. These courses will attract a total of 45 participants returning to the air base. The need for this return is particularly clear from the inadequate capacity in Roth.

There are also rumors that parts of the Bundeswehr Medical Academy could move from Munich to Fürstenfeldbruck. This academy has established itself as a competence center for research, development, training and medical NBC protection and could further strengthen the location.

A look into the future

The return of the officer school is a positive signal for the Fürstenfeldbruck Air Base. The integration of the language courses and possibly the medical academy could revitalize the location in the long term and offer new perspectives. The future of the air base looks very promising, and the revival of traditional training facilities is a reason for joy for the region.
