Railway line in Fürstenfeldbruck: Slope renovation ensures more safety!

There is currently a lot going on in Fürstenfeldbruck on the S-Bahn route between Pasing and Geltendorf. Deutsche Bahn is working diligently to comprehensively renovate this central connection. Especially after the devastating Pentecost flood in 2024, which affected the slope, the work shows how important stability is in this area. Loud Mercury Slope stabilization is carried out to prevent soil from sliding onto the tracks, which could pose a significant risk of derailment.

The work is currently in full swing: a dumper transports pebbles to a walking excavator, which distributes them on a one meter wide bed. Around 3,000 cubic meters of earthen concrete are being used to stabilize the slope, while 15 construction workers are working day and night. The entire project costs around two million euros.

Planned traffic measures

The construction work has meant that trains have only been allowed to run on sight for a year and a half, which has severely affected the usual timetable. A slow driving point has been set up where trains are only allowed to travel at 40 km/h. But there is light at the end of the tunnel in sight: the lifting of this slow speed limit is planned for November 20th, but at the same time a new one will be set up over 4.3 kilometers from Fürstenfeldbruck to Puchheim in order to repair damage to the superstructure and the thresholds, which will reduce the speed limit to 70 km/h. Hendrik Preister, who is in charge of construction work, is also already planning the next construction site: soil remediation between Weilheim and Peißenberg.

An additional aspect of the renovation is the conversion of the muddy construction road into a walking path with a width of 1.50 meters. The slope is also covered with jute mats and seeds are sown to ensure long-term stability.

Health aspects in focus

For those interested, the upcoming 45th German Hypertension Congress, which will take place in Berlin from November 25th to 27th, offers more in-depth insights into topics related to hypertension, digital health and prevention. The event, organized by the German Hypertension League and other medical societies, also covers current advances in telemedical care, which has become particularly important in view of the pandemic, according to the report pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov is reported.

This means that there is still a lot of movement in both the construction work in Fürstenfeldbruck and in the health sector: While work is being done here on the safety of the railway, there it is about people's health. Both are topics that have a lasting impact on our everyday lives.
