Sporty rivals and big donations: Tavernfest inspires preying!

The Tavernfest in Preying attracts numerous visitors every year. This year, from June 6th to June 9th 2025, the TSV Preying organized a colorful program under a bright sky that captivated young and old. For two days, the focus was on sporting competitions, which were very popular even in bad weather. Despite the circumstances, 56 out of 60 reported teams took part in the popular "Bayerwald-Mixed" volleyball tournament. The athletes not only fought for victory, but also for a good cause.

The start of the festival made a stand concert by the "Vilstal brass band" and the firecrackers from Hundsruck on Friday evening. This was followed by an impressive pageant with the community associations and the traditional beer tapping, in which Mayor Max König stood the barrel Antach with the active support of the Löwenbrauerei Passau. The evening was rounded off with groovy music from the band "Bayern-Rocker".

The sporting competitions on Saturday and Sunday were not only a highlight for the audience, but also an important contribution to supporting families in need. The organizers collected a total of 11,000 euros , who benefit two families with impaired children. On this occasion it was shown that you can achieve a lot with common actions, as well as the platform Plan that offers sports clubs the opportunity to collect donations through events.

The volleyball final, the 36. Sometimes took place, was a real thriller. The "Gwoid Ausm Woid" team prevailed against the "Oischinger family". Max Oischinger, a young athlete who plays in the 3rd league for the Donau Volleys Regensburg, showed impressive achievements in the field, but could not bring the trophy to its own home.

No less exciting at the "Allianz Sterr Cup" in small field football. 31 teams took part here and fought to the end. Athletic Bayao won the trophy in the final, which was decided in the gripping seven -meter shooting against FC Bayern Fanclub Straßkirchen, with a final score of 4: 1 . Previously, the players had defeated 2-1 in the “Goasta Rica” semi -finals. Fortunately, the tournament was injury -free, and the conditions improved for the footballers on Sunday.

The Tavernfest also offered a varied supporting program that ranged from a cozy morning pint to a darts tournament and a great raffle. Highlights such as the honor of deserved members of the TSV rounded off the festival. The raffle promised attractive prices, including 3000 euros in bar, which was drawn by Mayor Max König.

All in all, the Tavernfest was a complete success, which was an important enrichment for both the participants and supported families. "There is something", it was not only the motto of the festival, but also of all events that strengthen the coexistence in preying.
