Brawl in front of a discotheque: Police are looking for witnesses after an attack in Oberhaindlfing
On the night of Saturday to Sunday there was a violent altercation in front of the “Geltl’s” discotheque in Oberhaindlfing, Freising district. As the South German newspaper Reportedly, police received information about the incident around 3 a.m. A 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old, both from the area, got into a physical altercation with a previously unknown perpetrator.
The 22-year-old was punched several times in the face, which left him injured. When the 26-year-old tried to intervene protectively and de-escalate the situation, he also had to feel the attacker's fist. Fortunately, both men escaped with only minor injuries. The thug fled as a passenger in a silver car when the police were called. The investigation has already begun and the Freising police ask that all witnesses call 08161/530 50.
Previous incident in Wolfersdorf
A similar incident occurred in Wolfersdorf in November last year, also in front of a discotheque. A 17-year-old from Kirchdorf a.d.Amper was involved in an argument that ended with a punch in the face. The perpetrator, who was known for his aggressiveness, then fled in a taxi, while the young man had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries FS Live reported. This repeated violence in front of local nightlife groups raises questions about safety at night.
In Bavaria, despite a decline in crime, such as the current one Police crime statistics shows that many citizens' sense of security continues to be impaired. In 2024, a 1.7% decrease in crime was noted to approximately 5.84 million cases, largely due to the partial legalization of cannabis in April of the same year. Nevertheless, crimes are increasing, which can significantly impair one's sense of personal security. In particular, crimes of brutality and crimes against personal freedom are increasing, which is keeping the concerned public on tenterhooks.
The impact on society
Although there is much reporting about statistical declines, dark field studies show that many attacks, similar to the recent incidents in Oberhaindlfing, are not always reported. Trust in the judiciary is often seen as an obstacle. The fact that certain groups of perpetrators are not recorded in police statistics also leads to a distorted perception of security in cities and communities. Although a decline in the number of suspects could indicate positive developments, the increase in non-German suspects of 41.8% remains a topic that remains under discussion. Regions with high crime rates in particular make the question of public order and security all the more pressing.
For the citizens in and around Freising it is now time to stay vigilant and look after each other. Increased awareness of such incidents can help to sustainably strengthen security within communities.
