Violent brawl in Erlangen: Police are looking for witnesses to the nighttime incident!
There are currently some headlines in Erlangen and the surrounding area that are keeping the police busy. The night party scene not only brings some excitement but also brings certain dangers. So on the night from Saturday to Sunday there was a serious confrontation between two groups at Hugenottenplatz. This happened around half past two in the morning and ended in a physical fight. Four people involved, including two men and two women, were found by the police in the area. All of them had visible facial injuries and some were under the considerable influence of alcohol. However, some of those involved were able to escape before law enforcement officers arrived. The Erlangen police are therefore urgently asking witnesses to call 09131/760-114 to clarify this incident.
Things aren't looking particularly better on the region's roads. On November 9th, 2025, a 23-year-old man, heavily intoxicated with over 3 per mille and THC in his urine, lost control of his gray VW Golf. The speeder drove from Gräfenberg to Eckental and even crossed into the opposite lane, which put other road users in danger. Fortunately, witnesses noticed him and informed the police. They immediately initiated an investigation into the danger to road traffic and temporarily revoked the driver's license.
The alarming number of traffic accidents
The problem of alcohol-related traffic accidents is not new. Data from the Federal Statistical Office show that the number of these accidents in Germany is continuously increasing. The situation has not become any easier in recent years, as the comprehensive statistics show. Between 1995 and 2024, there were corresponding spikes in accident statistics that are alarming for every road user. These statistics can be found on Statista can be accessed and illustrate the importance of education and prevention in road traffic.
But it's not just traffic safety that has kept the police busy in recent days. On November 6th, 2025, a parked car in Heroldsberg was damaged by an unknown vehicle that left the scene of the accident unrecognized after the incident. Here too, the police are asking the public for help: information can be given by calling 09131/9884214.
Fires and other operations
And while the police are dealing with the above-mentioned incidents, the Röttenbach volunteer fire department is struggling with completely different challenges. On Sunday afternoon at 5:20 p.m. she had to go on an operation on Lederhosenstrasse when flames became visible from a chimney. The fire brigade quickly got the fire under control and immediately cleaned the chimney. A chimney sweep will be notified to ensure such incidents are avoided in the future.
A look at the past week shows that even in small regions like Erlangen and the surrounding area, the challenges in everyday life are diverse. Stay alert and contact the police if you notice any strange occurrences or dangerous behavior. After all, life on the streets is also a shared responsibility.
