Digital consultation hours for seniors: Use our help in Deggendorf!
Something is happening in Deggendorf – and it’s completely digital! The city's senior citizens' office has a great offer for everyone who is not really getting along with technology. On Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, there will be another computer consultation hour aimed specifically at the older generation. Here, seniors can ask their questions about tablets, PCs, laptops or cell phones in a relaxed atmosphere. The whole spectacle starts at 9:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room I of the New Town Hall at Franz-Josef-Strauß-Straße 3. The contact person on site is Thomas Lehmann, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can register via answering machine or email - just leave your name and telephone number and you're in. By the way, the new telephone number for the senior citizens' office has been 0991/2960-1333 since October 23, 2025.
The next opportunity to get fit on the computer will be on December 3rd, 2025. The consultation hour is a wonderful opportunity to reduce fear of contact and increase self-confidence in using technology. In a world that is becoming increasingly digital, it is more important than ever to actively participate in society.
Neighborhood help and social interaction
In Deggendorf, great value is also placed on social interaction. The seniors' regulars' table meets every second Wednesday of the month. Here you can chat over a cup of coffee and enjoy spending time together. And if you like to play, there is a sheepshead game every third Monday of the month at the Gasthof Alt Schaching without any stakes, accompanied by volunteers.
Promote digital skills
By the way, this commitment is not only valued locally. The Digital Opportunities Foundation has published a guide that deals with the topic of “Digital skills for older people”. This initiative aims to strengthen the self-confidence and media literacy of older people. In this way, seniors are optimally prepared for the digital world so that they can actively participate in it.
For all those who are curious about the latest trends: With Google Maps you can discover new places and activities! The revamped Explore tab gives users the ability to create lists of places and track their favorite businesses so they don't miss out on deals. This not only helps with leisure activities, but also brings a breath of fresh air into everyday life.
Deggendorf not only offers first-class computer consultation hours, but also numerous opportunities for social interactions and personal development. If you want to get fit digitally, you should mark the dates in your calendar and just stop by!
