Skat City Championship Coburg: The Forellen Forchheim on course for victory!
The Coburg City Championship was a complete success this year and brought together talented skat players from Bavaria and Thuringia on November 1, 2025. Organized by 1. SC Coburg Under the patronage of Mayor Dominik Sauerteig, the three-part championship took place in the TSV Unterlauter sports restaurant in Lautertal. The event was well attended with 68 participants, including representatives from various skat clubs and 7 private players.
Both the individual and tandem championships were held in exciting duels. Each tournament consisted of a total of 144 games, divided into three series of 48 games. The individual competition saw a strong performance from Benjamin Frank of Skatfreunde Bad Neustadt, who took first place with 4,015 points. He was followed by Günther Hoffmann (3,980 points) and Reinhard Färber (3,849 points).

From the participants from the skat club The Forchheim trouts A total of six players were present and the team was able to compete in various categories. Dieter Gonschorowski came fifth in the individual rankings with 3,663 points, while Michael Seidel (3,059 points) and Johann Kröner (2,828 points) also placed in the top 30. Joachim Günther came in 31st place with 2,754 points.
Gonschorowski and his partner Heinz Hofmann were also successful in the tandem competition and took third place with 6,331 points. Johann Kröner and Michael Seidel also did well and finished in tenth place with 5,887 points. The success of Forellen Forchheim shows that the skat community in the region is strong.
A comparison to previous years
In comparison to the last Coburg city championship in 2024, which took place in Landhaus Kaiser took place and attracted 60 participants, this year's event was a step forward. At that time, Peter Finzel, a private player, achieved victory with 4,279 points, while the tandem ranking was won by Lothar Groß and Michael Erzinger.
