Samba Festival 2025: Coburg turns into the Franconian Rio!
Coburg, Deutschland - Coburg is preparing for a spectacular weekend, because from 11. The International Samba Festival will take place here until July 13, 2025 . Every year the festival, which is the largest of its kind outside of Brazil, is visited by more than 150,000 enthusiasts, and this year the organizers also expect 3,000 sambistas from ten different nations in the city center. The city becomes a "Franconian Rio" and offers the best Brazilian joie de vivre that you can wish for.
The structure started on Monday on the Schlossplatz, and the festival site extends across the entire city center. Main stages are set up on the Schlossplatz and Marktplatz, while another stage will find space on Albertsplatz. There are also play areas in Herrngasse, Kleine Johannisgasse, on Theaterplatz, in Kuhgasse and the riding hall. On Friday and Saturday evening, the shows are located in the congress house that provide additional entertainment.

The admission prices are more than fair with 39 euros for a 3-day ticket or for Friday, 36 euros for Saturday and for Sunday. There is also a discount system: to travelers who present their railway tickets at the Samba checkout are granted 10% discount on the tickets.
From Friday afternoon there will be closures in the city center. The Theaterplatz, Grafengasse and Rückertstraße are no longer passable. In addition, the weekly market will be eliminated on Saturday, and the vegetable market moves to Spitalgasse and the west side of the market square.
