Future -based approaches for care -sensitive world of work in Upper Franconia!
In Bayreuth, an important event for the compatibility of care and work was recently held, which turned out to be a real platform for the exchange and development of solutions. Around 80 participants from various industries in Upper Franconia, including managing, HR managers and company care committees, came together to discuss the current challenges. Organized by the urban economic development and under the roof of the government of Upper Franconia, the event was opened by District Administrator Florian Wiedemann and Mayor Thomas Ebersberger.
President of the Government Thomas Engel saw the socio -political importance of care at the center of the discussion. Especially in Bavaria it looks like this: at the end of 2023 there were an average of 47 out of 1,000 people in need of care, in Upper Franconia there were even 61. These figures illustrate the need to create suitable working conditions to secure the specialists in the health and care sector.

Mayor Ebersberger made it clear that it was time to create care -sensitive working conditions in order not only to bind employees, but also to win new specialists. The district has a common responsibility to point out the existing regional approaches to relieve nursing staff. In this context, Kirsten Frohnert, project manager in the “Success factor Family” network office, presented innovative approaches to develop a care -sensitive corporate culture.
But not only in the corporate world, care plays a central role. According to bmas.de Working family members often struggle to make the care of their relatives with their job. Many people in need of care want to be looked after by relatives in their familiar environment, which brings enormous challenges for the caring relatives. However, labor law has improved: Exemption options such as the new ways opened in the Nursing Time Act and in the Family Care Act for the reconciliation of care and work.
legal framework for care
Here are some important points that are regulated as part of the exemptions:
- short -term work prevention: up to 10 working days exemption in acute care situations.
- care time: exemption up to 6 months for care in the home environment.
- Family care time: Reduction of working hours up to 24 months for home care.
- exemption for childcare children in need of care: entitlement to exemption for up to 6 months complete exemption.
- accompaniment in the last phase of life: up to 3 months of exemption.
All of these regulations help to facilitate the compatibility of family and work, and to strengthen social security, which was particularly important in times of covid 19 pandemic. The employers have a crucial role in this, because they are required to respond to the needs of their employees and to promote flexible working time models.
In the best practice interview with Sascha Bohne from Medi GmbH & Co. KG and Kathrin Buchfelder from Stäubli Holding Germany GmbH, practical examples and successful strategies were presented to improve working conditions in the nursing industry.
Finally, the discussion groups brought together all topics under the motto "remain sustainable - shaping the care of the work" and showed how important it is to recognize company care to be used as essential competitive factors, flexible working time models and nursing -friendly corporate culture. These approaches could be crucial to get the challenges in nursing under control and to meet the future requirements of society.
