Creative writing: Augsburg district calls for the The Key” competition!
The Augsburg district calls on all young storytellers to get their creative minds going! The annual writing competition is in its ninth round and has the motto “The Key”. This not only requires imagination and creative skills, but also the opportunity to discover and present unimagined talents. Participants are all children and young people who have to attend a school in the district, regardless of whether they are primary school students or high school graduates.
The competition invites young authors to write stories about found, lost or invented keys. District Administrator Martin Sailer highlights the diversity and expressiveness of the students and emphasizes how important it is to offer them a platform to tell their stories. It becomes particularly exciting when the entries are read and evaluated by a jury of experts.
Conditions of participation and deadlines
If you want to take part, hurry up! The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2026. All contributions can be submitted in various formats, be it stories, short stories or poems. The best texts will ultimately be published in a paperback in summer 2026, which will be available in regional stores. This is a great opportunity for the young talents to present their works to a wider audience.

Closing event and awards ceremony

Promoting the creativity of young people is not only a concern of the Augsburg district, but also of many other institutions. The German Language Association e. v. offers a database for literary competitions, calls for proposals and prizes for young authors, which is updated regularly.
