Summer, sun, safety: Positive balance at Summer Breeze 2025!

In Dinkelsbühl, in the picturesque Ansbach district, the popular music festival “Summer Breeze Open Air” opened its doors from August 12th to 17th, 2025 and attracted almost 45,000 music fans. The police rated the event as consistently positive in terms of security and how smoothly it ran. Only a few missions were necessary, but the overall result was very positive. The sophisticated traffic concept in cooperation with the organizer helped ensure that visitors arrived within specified time slots on arrival days, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, which led to only minor traffic disruptions. This meant that the thrill of setting off was combined with a well-organized process.

During the festival days, around 40 incidents were documented by festival security, including one case of sexual harassment and three assault offenses. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, two Eastern European people were arrested who were suspected of unauthorized entry and theft. During the arrest, the suspects resisted and a police officer was injured. An investigation has been initiated against the two suspects, which is being taken over by the Ansbach criminal police. Investigators are also looking for other victims of these incidents.

Police security system

The entire operation was under the direction of the Ansbach police station, which received active support from the Bavarian riot police. Nevertheless, not only did interpersonal conflicts occur during the festival, but traffic stops were also carried out, which revealed some violations, including driving under the influence of drugs. The police didn't have much time for boredom, as a total of three traffic accidents were registered in connection with the event.

The “Summer Breeze” visitors were able to concentrate on the music and the atmosphere, while the security forces in the background had everything under control. Potential risks were noticeably minimized by the representative planning and police measures.

A look at the future

While there was a celebration in Dinkelsbühl, the fashion giant Shein also showed that safety is a hot topic. The company has announced that it will significantly increase its commitment to the security of online purchases in 2025. Product safety testing will be increased by 25%, with a budget of $15 million for compliance with standards. Shein is responding to pressure from the European Union, which has demanded that its products comply with high consumer protection standards. This could trigger a turnaround in e-commerce as other providers could follow to increase consumer trust and improve product quality.

The challenges for Shein are great because of the high costs of security checks and the monitoring of many sellers. But the move towards better security could pay off and have a lasting impact on consumers' shopping behavior. Consumers want cheap goods, but not at the expense of safety or quality.

As the situation in Dinkelsbühl and at Shein shows, it is of great importance both in the area of events and in online trading to emphasize security in order to gain and maintain people's trust.
