Summer cycling was a real hit in the Altötting district! From July 4th to 24th, 2025, a fabulous 1,812 cycling enthusiasts took part in the international “City Cycling” campaign. The momentum from the previous year was exceeded - with a record result of a fantastic 431,268 kilometers! This means that the cyclists left the 399,236 kilometers of 2024 far behind them. All you can say is: This has really picked up speed!
A total of seven municipalities were active in city cycling: Altötting, Burghausen, Neuötting, Töging am Inn, Burgkirchen, Garching a. d. Alz and Mehring. Together they covered the impressive distance in 21 days and avoided over 71 tons of CO₂. A real contribution to improving our climate!

At the end of the campaign there were shining eyes and some great prizes at the district office. The certificates were ceremoniously presented. Franz Eichberger from the “Die Radlerinnen vom KDFB z’Neiädding” team was able to secure the title of best individual rider in the men’s ranking with an incredible 2,154.6 kilometers.
