Why integration through sport is important
Such events are not only fun for the whole family, but also a significant step towards integration. The German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB) has promoted 26 projects for integration through sports with a total of 55,000 euros to facilitate migrants access to sports clubs. These projects, such as the example "Wet to the ears" in Nürtingen, are specially tailored to the needs of these groups and promote teamwork as well as social participation.
sports clubs also play a central role in the integration of migrants. The federal program “Integration through Sport” aims to inspire girls and women with a migration background for sporting activities in the club. Current statistics show that 44% of girls and 25% of women from migrant families are active in sports clubs, compared to 63% or 31% without a migration background. These figures make it clear that there is still a lot of potential to increase participation and strengthen the social structures.
The successful implementation of these integrative approaches shows how important sport is as a connecting element in our society. He helps to reduce prejudices and to promote understanding between cultures. Events such as the integrative sports festival in Wunsiedel are therefore not only leisure activities, but also social supports that help to create harmonious coexistence.
If you want to register for the festival, you have time until July 9th to do this by phone at 09232/602 107 or by email to mgh@wunsiedel.de. Registration is recommended for organizational reasons to facilitate the planning of the actions and catering.
The festival in Wunsiedel is not only an opportunity for an active family day, but also representative for the MSG clubs in Bavaria and their efforts to promote integration through sport.
